It is no wonder that Geofoam, an expanded polystyrene (EPS) product, is growing in popularity. Its effectiveness and efficiency are proven time and again on a worldwide scale.
The recent Victorian Peninsula Link Project in Melbourne, Australia is a perfect example. RMAX, Australia’s largest manufacturer of EPS products, supplied the Geofoam for this enormous civil engineering project. Over 400 blocks were used, for a total of 1,700 cubic meters (about 60,035 cubic feet) of foam. The Geofoam was used for embankment fill, bridge abutment, reinforced embankments and reinforced soil walls. These constructions are meant to last 100 years and with the undeniable success of expanded polystyrene nothing is impossible!
