Habitat for Humanity – #ICASanta

What is our passion behind this project? With so many charities to support, why do we choose Habitat for Humanity for our yearly Christmas campaign?

Habitat home-ownership improves the quality of lives for families, impacting generations by helping to break the cycle of poverty. By partnering with Habitat, families are given tools to succeed as successful homeowners. Habitat offers a hand up, not a handout approach. Each adult family member must contribute 250 hours of sweat equity, building their own homes and homes of their neighbors. This creates empowerment through self-ownership and pride for families and their communities.

Habitat for Humanity StatisticsWe choose this charity for the opportunity to not only help families achieve the ability to afford housing – the everlasting effect of home ownership is much more than just walking through the front door.

  • Children are more likely to succeed in school when they have stability and safe living conditions. Children of homeowners are more likely to graduate from high school and college.
  • Living in a safe environment with dependable heating and cooling improves the health and mental well-being for all family members.
  • An affordable mortgage allows homeowners to invest in healthcare and education, creating more choices and better futures for generations to come.
  • Revitalization of blight neighborhoods and the creation of new communities.

We are honored to support such a worthy cause to help “Home for the Holidays” have fresh meaning for new homeowners and their families.
